I love trying drinks and my experience in El Salvador was no different. The beers of El Salvador are refreshing and yummy while countries produce several of their own rums and whiskeys.
During the past few days both my driver and guide invited me to try several of the nation’s famous beers (not that they had to pull my leg to do it.)
So here are the fab 4 plus one limited edition.
This is thought to be El Salvador’s national beer because everybody drinks it, so it’s regarded as one of the most well-known beers of El Salvador Believe of Budweiser from the States, Pilsener Urquell in Czech, Gallo in Guatemala and Balbao in Panama. You can find it is great for a day at the beach or just hanging out with buddies and this beer anywhere you look. I really like the charm and lightness, however, especially the affordability element of this beer. Pilsener generally costs $1 in stores and $1.50-$2.50 in pubs. When you come the unofficial beer of El Salvador have to strive.
This is heralded as the king of beers. It costs than Pilsener and is served anywhere. Drinking Suprema is a luxury for many class El Salvadorians, so there is certainly a prestige connected with ordering it. As I have heard from my buddies here- women dig guys who drink Suprema.
Similar in flavor to a Miller Light, Golden Light is the women’ beer. It’s light and lessens the danger of hangovers. I actually liked this beer very much, although Even the manliest of men wouldn’t dare to purchase a Golden Light in a public place . Pilsener is my own favorite.
Fantastic beer which most folks consider to be about the lower-end. Regia is tastier than Pilsener, however it is hard to find in most restaurants. Regia is marketed toward the working class, which does mingle in pubs and restaurants. It comes in 40 oz. Glass bottles and also in cans. I attempted Regia one in Santa Tecla. Locate and our waiter had to leave it. 20 minutes after he returned with my petition. The 40 oz cost me about $3.50. In stores it costs about $1.30.
*LIMITED EDITION: this is a limited edition beer. It’s basically a Suprema spin-off which has a cherry flavor candy and with a high alcohol content. It’s only sold to March. It costs approximately $1.40 in supermarkets, which is the only place they’re sold.
Here’s a tasting I’d on Lake Coatepeque at my buddies house.
