The old capital of Costa Rica in 1563-1823, this historical city is the oldest Spanish settlement in the nation, and has a couple of websites. Tour around the ruins of Santiago Apostle Church and pay a visit to the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles to get a glimpse into the city’s rich history.
